Bhubaneswar: Activists of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress on Monday staged agitation in front of the official quarters of Health Minister Niranjan Puri here demanding Rs 50 lakh compensation each for the families of those killed in the explosion at Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital.
Slogan shouting activists also demanded immediate arrest of the hospital’s chairman Tirupati Panigrahi. They threatened to intensify their agitation and even gherao Naveen Nivas in the coming days if their demands are not met with.
The NSUI activists had a face-off with the police when they hurled eggs at the Health Minister’s official residence.
