Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Monday demanded the arrest of Itish Pradhan hours after his open threat to hurl eggs on Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik.
In a press meet at the Congress Bhawan here, All-India Congress Committee (AICC) member Manasha Tripathy along with NSUI’s state coordination committee members condemned the behaviour of Pradhan terming it as unconstitutional.

Pradhan, who was suspended from the primary membership of the NSUI on Saturday for breaching organizational discipline, had today questioned the move in front of the media and had levelled serious allegations against Patnaik.

The NSUI state-unit stated that use of abusive language against the OPCC chief will not be tolerated and Pradhan will have to face them before pointing fingers at Patnaik. They urged before AICC interim president Sonia Gandhi and Odisha in-charge Jitendra Singh to suspend Pradhan from the primary membership of NSUI and Congress for six years.
