Nuapada: The Election Commission of India has announced a Special Summary Revision (SSR) under Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, for the upcoming by-election in the Nuapada Assembly Constituency of Odisha.
The qualifying date for the revision has been set as July 1, 2025.
Polling Station Reorganisation: A total of 56 new polling stations have been established, increasing the total number of polling stations in the constituency from 302 to 358. Of these, 36 are in urban areas and 322 are in rural areas. Additionally, 52 polling stations have been renamed during the reorganisation process, with changes completed by September 14, 2025.
Voter List Updates: The consolidated ballot paper list was published on September 15, 2025, with claims and objections also filed on the same day. The final voter list will be published on October 9, 2025.
Voter Statistics: The constituency currently has 2,48,256 registered voters, comprising 1,22,103 males, 1,26,132 females, and 21 third-gender voters. The voter base includes 2,007 senior citizens, 6,003 youth voters, and 4,000 persons with disabilities (PwD).
Engagement with Political Parties: A meeting with representatives of recognised political parties was held on September 15, 2025, to discuss the SSR process. District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers have been instructed to involve district units of political parties at all stages of the revision. Soft copies of the ballot paper list have been shared with party representatives.
Final Voter List: The finalised voter list for the Nuapada Assembly Constituency will be published on October 9, 2025, ensuring readiness for the by-election.
