Bhubaneswar: RS Gopalan, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha has announced to deploy a helicopter to facilitate the smooth conduct of the upcoming Nuapada by-election in Odisha.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Gopalan, the helicopter will be utilized to transport polling personnel to eight remote polling booths located in forest areas, ensuring their safety and facilitating the voting process. These special arrangements are part of the Commission’s efforts to ensure that all eligible voters can exercise their franchise without any hindrance. After the polling process is complete, the personnel will be flown back to their designated locations.
A total of 47 polling booths in Maoist-affected areas have been identified as sensitive and will have enhanced security measures in place to prevent any disruptions, informed CEO adding that helicopter will be deployed to facilitate voting in the Nuapada by-election, specifically for 8 polling booths located in 5 remote areas. Additionally, 14 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed to ensure the security and smooth conduct of the election.
