Bhubaneswar: With just four days left for the Nuapada by-election, the Congress party has released its election manifesto for the Nuapada by-poll. Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhakta Charan Das unveiled the party’s vision document at a function held at the local Khuntia Bhawan.
According to reports, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters as election day approaches fast. The BJP, BJD, and Congress have prepared a blueprint to capture the hearts of the electorate, with heavyweights from each party expected to hit the campaign trail.
The Congress party’s manifesto for Nuapada highlights the party’s contributions to the region and emphasizes the need for change. The manifesto outlines the party’s vision and promises, focusing on agricultural development, preventing labour exploitation, and providing employment opportunities.
The Congress party’s manifesto promises several key developments for Nuapada, including construction of cold storage facilities, development of Patora and Tikhali dams, irrigation projects to cover 60% of land through minor irrigation schemes, implementation of Forest Rights Act to provide land titles to tribals, quality education with adequate teachers in schools, filling up of vacant doctor posts and empowering self-help groups to make them self-sustainable.
Ghasiram Majhi, who has led a life of simplicity and integrity throughout his 40-year political career, reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Congress party during the unveiling of its election manifesto.
Notably, the by-election in Nuapada is scheduled to be held on November 11. The by-election results will be announced on November 14. The by-election in Nuapada is being held following the demise of BJD’’s late MLA Rajendra Dholakia. For the by-election, BJP has fielded Jay Dholakia, the son of Rajendra Dholakia, as its candidate. Similarly, BJD has nominated Snehangini Chhuria as its candidate, while Congress has fielded Ghasiram Majhi in the fray.
