Nuapada Bypoll: Campaigning Ends Today; Silence Period To Begin At 4 PM

Bhubaneswar: The campaigning for the Nuapada Assembly by-election will come to an end today, with the BJP, BJD, and Congress using their full forces to woo voters on the last day. As the campaigning concludes, the non-campaign or “silence” period will kick in at 4 PM, 48 hours before the voting day on November 11.

During this period, political parties and candidates are not allowed to campaign, as per the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines. The silence period aims to provide voters with a chance to reflect on their choices without external influence. The Election Commission has directed outsiders to leave the Constituency today.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had led the BJP’s final push in Nuapada on Saturday, addressing a rally and accusing the BJD of neglecting tribals during its 24-year rule. The voting will take place on November 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
