Bhubaneswar: Managing Director of the Nudge Institute V Sriram called on Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Empowerment, and Power, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Monday.
According to an official press release, the meeting was also attended by Sushil Kumar Lohani, Principal Secretary of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, and Atul Satija, CEO and Founder of the Nudge Institute.
Distress migration has recently emerged as a significant issue in Odisha. To address this, the government has established a task force led by Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo to implement urgent measures. The task force will focus on reducing distress migration and creating sustainable employment opportunities for affected individuals.
The Nudge Institute proposed partnering with the state government to connect directly with migrant workers and provide them with income sources based on their skills.
Managing Director Sriram noted that the Nudge Institute is already involved in tribal development efforts in other states, including Jharkhand.
