Bhubaneswar: Arjun Sahoo, father of Advisor to the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) and SAI International Education Group founder Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, breathed his last at his residence in Sastri Nagar of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
He is survived by his daughter Bidyutprava Sahoo, son Dr Sahoo, daughter-in-law Silpi Sahoo and five grandchildren. At the time of his death, his son, daughter-in-law and daughter were near him.
A resident of Kulashri village in Niali block of Cuttack district, Arjun had married Sushila Devi, a highly pious lady, who breathed her last in 2014. He served as Deputy Director, Sericulture in Government of Odisha before leaving his job to start his own business.
He is a silent philanthropist, and was associated with several NGOs, orphanages and old age home. A pall of gloom descended on his native village and the SAI International fraternity on hearing the sad news. The fragrance of his memories will forever remain in the heart of those who know him. His last rites will be performed in Puri today.
