Bhubaneswar: The investigation into the murder of senior advocate and BJP leader Pitabas Panda has taken a new turn with the police chargesheet revealing a shocking motive.
According to the chargesheet, Panda was allegedly blackmailing former BJD MLA Bikram Panda with some objectionable photos, threatening to make them public.
The police investigation found that Pitabas Panda had a pen drive containing these photos, which were also found in his secret chamber. The chargesheet states that Pitabas Panda was using these photos to blackmail Bikram Panda, and this led to the murder plot.
According to Bikram Panda’s lawyer, a crucial key was recovered during the investigation. The key was used to unlock a secret chamber in his home, which was opened in the presence of his wife, Sushmita Panda. Inside the chamber, investigators found a pen drive containing some compromising photos. Notably, despite being a key piece of evidence, the pen drive has not been produced in court, police had not produced in the court.
