OCAC CEO Cyber Fraud Case: Odisha Crime Branch In Contact With Delhi Police

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Crime Branch is contact with Delhi Police in connection with the Rs 7 lakh cyber fraud in the name of CEO of Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), Manoj Pattnaik.

Odisha Crime Branch ADG Sanjeeb Panda informed that similar case had earlier been handled by Delhi Police and they have also nabbed one accused of such a gang committing cyber frauds.

While the Delhi Police has tracked two members of the gang, Odisha Crime Branch has been able to track one accused reportedly operating from Bengaluru.

The Odisha Crime Branch is gathering more information before conducting a raid to nab the accused, said Panda.

He advised people to not click any suspicious links on WhatsApp and to verify the identity of a person before sending any money to him or her.

It is worthwhile to mention that several people had been duped of Rs 7 lakh in the name of CEO of Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), Manoj Pattnaik.

The fraudster/s had collected the money from Pattnaik’s WhatsApp contacts. While the bank accounts of the fraudster/s have been frozen, the money has already been withdrawn.
