Bhubaneswar: An Odia BSF jawan who suffered critical injuries in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast in Kanker of Chhattisgarh succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Prakash Chandra Sial, a resident of Gopalpur under Bahanaga block of Balasore district died while undergoing treatment at Raipur hospital, reports said.
He was one of the jawans of joint party comprising of BSF personnel and District Force members. The party was en route from Camp Marbeda to the Rengaghati Rengagondi polling station, along with four polling teams dispatched from Kanker.
Besides the BSF jawan, two polling team members were injured in the blast.
