Odia Diaspora Meet Held In Ahmedabad During Odisha Parab

Bhubaneswar: As part of the ongoing Odisha Parab celebrations in Ahmedabad, an Odia Diaspora Meet was organised, bringing together the Odia community across Gujarat.

The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida, along with Deepankar Mohapatra, Director, Department of Tourism, Odisha; Deba Prasad Dash, Special Secretary, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department; Maheshwar Sahu (Retired); and H.K. Dash (Retired), President of the Odia Socio-Cultural Association of Ahmedabad and Chairman of the Gujarat State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.

Addressing the gathering, Pravati Parida highlighted the growing synergy between Odisha and Gujarat, noting the immense potential for collaboration in culture, trade, tourism, and community development. “Platforms like Odisha Parab go beyond cultural showcases,” she said, “they strengthen cultural ties, foster mutual understanding, and open new avenues of cooperation between our states.”

The meet saw enthusiastic participation from the Odia diaspora, who shared experiences and expressed pride in seeing Odisha’s rich culture, handlooms, cuisine, and traditions celebrated in Gujarat. The event reinforced the importance of community engagement in preserving cultural identity while embracing new opportunities.

Odisha Parab continues to draw large crowds in Ahmedabad, showcasing the state’s art, craft, cuisine, and tourism potential to an eager audience.
