Malkangiri: A young engineer from Kalimela of Malkangiri working in a Hyderabad-based private company went missing in the flood-ravaged Sikkim.
His family members have met the district Superintendent of Police and appealed to him to help them rescue their son.
Kishore Mahajan, a resident of EPDP colony of Kalimela Sadar, worked as a project engineer at Green Life Energy Solutions LLP, Hyderabad. The company had sent him to the Himalayan State for project work. Mahajan was staying at ITBP camp in Lachen of Sikikm, family members said.
He had last spoken to his relatives on October 4. Since then, his phone has remained switched off, they said.
Family members also contacted the company authorities to know the whereabouts of their son. However, the company failed to provide details.
Later, they moved to the district SP seeking his intervention.
Notably, 23 army personnel and several other civilians went missing in the flash flood caused by a sudden cloudburst. Several bodies were recovered while the operation is still underway to trace others.
