Bhubaneswar: Odia film artist Manoj Mishra, recently in the headlines alleging regional disparity and groupism in Odia film industry, today joined active politics by embracing the Congress party in the State.
Mishra joined the grand old party in the presence of Congress’ Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar, PCC president Sarat Patnayak, senior MLA Narasingh Mishra and other senior leaders at the party state headquarters.
Mishra said he joined the Congress party to serve the weaker section of society.
“I want to be a people’s servant. I have seen the sorrows of people which is unbearable for me. I want what had happened to me would not happen to anyone else. I want to represent western Odisha and to work to take forward the people. Narasingh Mishra sir guided me in this regard. I see that there is a future in Congress party through which I can work for my people, “Manoj Mishra said.
Narasingh Mishra said “Manoj Mishra is an eminent film artiste. He always wants to serve the downtrodden. I, PCC president and other leaders discussed it with him. He agreed to serve the backward region, especially in western Odisha, and eradicate the regional disparity with the Congress party.”
