Bhubaneswar: Debosmita Patnaik from Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district of Odisha is literally dancing her way to success by landing a role in superstar Rajinikanth starrer ‘Darbar’ – an upcoming Tamil-language action movie.
A trained classical dancer, 19-year-old Debosmita has been felicitated by various organisations and institutions across the country earlier for her performances, but the movie is a real boost to her career.
Born to Indira Patnaik and late Krushna Mohan Patnaik of Anka Sahi in Paralakhemundi, Debosmita had started dancing from the age of three. In her initial years she trained in the traditional dance form of Odisha – Odissi.
However, in search of better opportunities, she moved to Mumbai. While she studied till her intermediate in Paralakhemundi, she is presently pursuing her graduation along with her career in dancing in the city of dreams.
In Mumbai, Debosmita joined the Shakti Mohan Dance Studio – Nritya Shakti – where she trained in various other forms of classical and modern dance. She also displayed her talent at various events.
It was during one such event she got the offer to dance in a song of the movie ‘Darbar’. She could not reject the offer after learning that Rajnikanth is the protagonist of the movie.
Hopefully her performance has mesmerized many during the shooting of the song as presently an offer to perform in two songs in another Tamil movie has landed in her hand.
For Debosmita, who aims to be a successful choreographer, it is just the beginning. She wants to groom her skills and excel in whatever role she is being offered in coming days.
