Bhubaneswar: A youth from Ganjam, who came to Bahrain only 10 months ago, was found hanging at his quarter in the Gulf state.
His mysterious death has sent shockwaves in his village Bagalpur under Khallikote panchayat in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Sagar Pradhan of Bagalpur under Tentuli panchayat.
According to sources, Sagar had gone to Bahrain 10 months back to earn a fast buck so that he could repay the loan taken during his sister’s marriage. Sagar’s father Kartik Pradhan was also working in Maldives.
On Saturday, he had talked to his mother. His death news came on Monday. His mother got a call from a Baharin-based Odia person who informed her that Sagar had committed suicide by hanging himself.
Smelling something fishy about the unfortunate incident, his family members have urged the district administration to make necessary arrangements to repatriate his body from Bahrain. Also, they have demanded compensation.
His brother alleged that his company should inform us about his death. The authorities neither informed us about his death nor sent us his hanging photo despite several requests. He accused the authorities of suppressing the incident.
His brother said “Sagar had words with us on Saturday and didn’t tell us of any problems. It’s really surprising that he took such an extreme measure without sharing what was disturbing him.”
