Bargarh: An Odia scientist working at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) died due to drowning here on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Niharranjan Pradhan, a native of Jharapali village in Ambabhona block of Bargarh.
The mishap occured when Pradhan was bathing in a small pond in his village. A pall of gloom descended on the village following the death of the young and bright scientist. Local police have retrieved the body and sent it for autopsy.
Pradhan graduated from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in 2020, and had joined ISRO in January, 2021 at Trivandrum. A talented youth, Pradhan was working in mechanism design sector, and had a strong inclination towards robotics, his family members said, sobbing.
