Bhubaneswar: City-based Utkal Hospital has placed its CEO Dr Alok Lodh on suspension. In a press note, the Hospital stated on Sunday that Dr Lodha posted certain statements on his personal social media account, which has hurt sentiments of Odia people.
Dr Lodh had shared a post on social media pertaining to recruitment in the hospital. However, in that post, he had mentioned ‘only non-Odias’ eligible to apply, reports stated.
As this matter was reported by the media, Dr Lodh retracted his statements and apologised. But it was too late, and the hospital decided to remove him from the post of CEO.
“Such act of Dr Alok Lodh is purely his personal and Utkal Hospital Management does not endorse such action. Utkal Hospital is owned and operated by Odias and its 99% employees are from Odisha,” the hospital stated.
