Odia Student’s Mysterious Death In Chennai, Parents Demand Probe

**Bhubaneswar**: Parents of an Odia student Dibyaprasad Bhanjadeo who lost his life in mysterious circumstances in Chennai demanded a high level probe into the case. They have expressed doubts that death of their son was more than just an accident and alleged that the Chennai police didn’t provide them sufficient information regarding the case.

Addressing a press conference here, Dibya’s father Pranab Kumar Bhanjadeo said, “He was missing since 8th March. We were able to trace him on 11th March in a local hospital. The Chennai police informed us that he met with an accident. On 17th March he passed away.”

However, the grieved father doesn’t believe the Chennai police.

He said, “His cell phone was switched off on that day. Police said that they didn’t find his cell phone, wallet or other accessories at the spot. We doubt that something vicious might have happened with him.”

Social activist Babita Kar also demanded a proper investigation. She said, “The Chennai Police didn’t take this case seriously. There are strong evidences that his death was more than just an accident. But they didn’t conduct an intensive probe. We have filed an official complaint and have demanded a proper inquiry.”

Notably, Dibyaprasad was studying engineering in a private institute in Chennai.
