Koraput: Jeypore’s Biswanath Nayak has won a gold medal for Indian in weight lifting in the International Strength Lifting and Inexin Bench Press Championship held in Kathmandu recently.
More than 500 athletes from nine countries participated in this competition organised by the Nepal Strength Lifting Federation. Nayak represented India in the Masters category.
People of Jeypore are extremely happy with the victory of the local youth at an international forum. Nayak was felicitated by social service organisations and public at the the railway station here today.
