Bhubaneswar: A woman from Odisha was found dead in her residence in Hyderabad, in the absence of her husband, who was in Bhubaneswar at the time.
The woman, a resident of Bharatpur in Bhubaneswar, was employed at a private company in Hyderabad, where she lived with her husband and their four-year-old son. The incident occurred on October 11, 2025, while her husband was in Bhubaneswar with their son for personal reasons, leaving his wife alone at home.
On October 15, he received a call from the company informing him that his wife was ill and urging him to return to Hyderabad. Upon arriving, he was devastated to learn of her death.
“I suspect my wife was gang-raped and murdered while alone at home. I have been sitting helplessly outside the hospital where the autopsy was conducted, but I was not allowed to see her body. I have lodged a complaint with the local police station. I request the Odisha Government to assist me and help me bring my wife’s body back to my home state,” the deceased’s husband stated.
Upon receiving information from neighbours, the Hyderabad police reached the scene and initiated an investigation. The police are continuing to probe the matter.
