Bhubaneswar: An Odia woman BSF jawan has embarked on an adventurous water expedition from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar in support of the Clean Ganga Mission.
Hailing from Ora village under Krushna Prasad block in Puri, Diptimayee Tarai is part of a 20-member BSF team that aims to cover 2,500 km in water, completing the expedition by December 24. Five other lady jawans from Odisha are also participating in the mission.
As a BSF jawan in the women’s force, Diptimayee protects the country’s borders. Now, she’s taken on an adventurous water expedition to raise awareness about keeping the River Ganga clean. Her team, including 20 women BSF jawans, began their journey on November 2. Diptimayee shared her message from Gangotri through a video, receiving well-wishes from various quarters.
Dipti said that six other jawans from Odisha are part of the 20-member team. The expedition, titled ‘All Women Ganga River Rafting Expedition 2024,’ aims to promote women’s empowerment, a clean Ganga, and Prosperous Nation. Diptimayee expressed pride for being part of national service.
