**Bhubaneswar:** While two out of six school students got washed away when taking bath in the Kuakhai river here on Wednesday morning, Fire officials successfully rescued one student in a critical condition and rushed him to Capital Hospital.
Reportedly, six students studying in Class 9 of Unit 9 Boys High School, had been to bathe in the Kuakhai river bunking classes. While one of them stayed back over the bridge, rest five went down for bathing when high current washed them away. Some locals present there could immediately save three while two students went missing.
After the Fire and ODRAF teams launched a search operation, one of the two missing students was fished out in a critical condition.
All the four rescued students in school uniform have been admitted to Capital Hospital here.
Simultaneously, the Fire and ODRAF teams noticed a woman drowning who was also rescued and rushed to Capital Hospital.
The rescued woman has been identified as Kanchana, who was serving as a Home Guard posted at Mancheswar Police Station four years back.
Police is investigating into the matter.
