Berhampur: Ganjam district administration has setup 108 COVID Care Committees (CCC) at village level and 240 COVID Management Committees (CMC) in urban areas. Today, Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange presided over a meeting of all these committees and instructed the COVID Monitors to ensure strict implementation of COVID guidelines in their respective areas.
The primary function of the CCC are to educate people about COVID guidelines and make an assessment of the situation in their area and apprise the local Sarpanch. A COVID Monitor has been appointed to establish a link between CCCs and the Sarpanch. At village levels, COVID Care Homes have been setup to isolate symptomatic people.
“Till today, 456 COVID Care Homes have been setup in the rural areas of Ganjam district. The CCHs have minimum 10 beds and all basic facilities like sanitation and drinking water. Doctors attend the CCHs regularly,” said Kulange.
“Similarly, in urban areas we will have door to door survey in ULBs, municipalities and Corporation. This will be more intensified and carried out in a professional manner. We will create a database of persons with comorbidity. For people with COVID symptoms, isolation, home quarantine and testing will be expedited,” Kulange added.
