**Angul/ Kalahandi:** While zero-casualty mission was successfully achieved during severe cyclonic storm ‘Tilti’, the torrential rains triggered in the aftermath of the natural disaster have caused some deaths across Odisha.
Over the past few days, drowning incidents in flash floods have been reported from several districts in the State. One such case has come to the fore from Angul’s Angarbandh Panchayat today as a 64-year-old woman named Sampei Das of Gouda Sahi was washed away in a flash flood while she was attending the nature’s call. Her body was recovered by the villagers three kilometers away in the canal.
In a separate drowning incident, a youth named Akhil Khamari (38) of Gotamunda village in Kalahandi’s Amapani police limits drowned to death in a check-dam late last night. Fire personnel recovered the youth’s body and sent it for post-mortem while locals have informed that Khamari suffered from epilepsy.
