Bhubaneswar: All Higher Secondary Schools in Odisha under the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) are now required to conduct annual examination for class XI as per uniform calendar and submit the result sheet to Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) for confirmation.
The DHSE has issued a letter to principals of all Government/Non-Government Aided Higher Secondary Schools/Non-Government Self-Financed Higher Secondary Schools in this connection.
“….it is ordered that all Higher Secondary Schools will have Annual Examination for the students of class XI in the second fortnight of February of the academic year. The examination will be done in the CHSE (O) pattern covering the full course of class XI. All Higher Secondary Schools will prepare question paper on their own to conduct the examination as per the examination schedule, evaluate the answer scripts and prepare the tabulation register in Excel format to be shared to DHSE,” reads the letter.
Besides, the letter says that students who have passed the annual examination shall be promoted to class XII after getting clearance from DHSE.
Further, students who fail to secure pass marks, the Higher Secondary Schools will have to conduct summer remedial classes for them and conduct another exam for their promotion to class XII before the next academic session.
The DHSE’s order will take effect from this academic year, the letter said.
