Bhadrak: Two people were killed and around 29 people were injured in two separate accidents in Bhadrak district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The first accident occurred on National Highway (NH) 16 near Barikpur. A tourist bus carrying 52 pilgrims from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh was on its way to Puri when it rammed into a stationary paddy-laden truck.
Fire service personnel rescued the injured and rushed them to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Bhadrak. Condition of 15 is stated to be critical with rest 10 bearing minor injuries.
The second accident occurred on NH16 near Dahanigadia Chhack under Town Police limits where two ambulances had a head-on collision. Both the vehicles were reportedly transporting patients to Cuttack when the mishap occurred. The accident left four people, including two patients critically injured.
The injured were first taken to Bhadrak DHH and then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as their condition worsened.
