Odisha: 3 Congress Activists Held For ‘Watery Protest’ In NHAI Office

**Bhubaneswar:** The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday detained three Congress party activists in connection with staging protest and flooding the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) office here.

The three party workers were taken from their respective houses late on Monday night on charges of attempting to damage public property. They will be forwarded to the court soon.

Protesting the arrest, many Congress party workers today gheraoed the police station and demanded their release.

Notably, the Congress activists barged inside the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) office with water pipes and had poured water all over the office rooms and stairs on Monday. It was done in a counter-attack to the water logging problem persisting on the highways here

The incident which triggered the Congress activists was the submersion of Nayapalli area after a brief shower.The rains caused water logging in the area and the road in front of ISKCON temple was flooded. Cars and autos parked in the road were unable to move as the wheels were completely under water.
