Odisha: 4 Killed, 30 Injured In Separate Road Mishaps

Cuttack/ Sundergarh: At least four persons were killed and more than 30 were injured in separate road mishaps in different parts of the State today.

Three persons including a woman were killed on the spot after a car with six persons on-board rammed into a truck from behind near Bhairpur village under Jagatpur police limits in Cuttack district late last night. Three others sustained grievous injuries.

They were rescued by police personnel and ODRAF team and were rushed to SCB Medical for treatment. Another person died today morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The mishap occurred when the family of Pikola Panchayat area was going towards Cuttack railway station and their car lost control after hitting a truck that was parked in the roadside.

In yet another incident of road mishap, as many as 30 passengers were injured when a night coach bus named 'Ganga' turned turtle near Jhirdapali under Tikayatapali police limits in Sundergarh district today.

According to reports, the mishap occurred after one of the bus’ tyres burst causing the vehicle. en route to Rourkela from Paradip, to overturn.

Reportedly, two critically injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment in Rourkela hospital while other received first-aid in Bonai sub-divisional hospital.
