Odisha: 5 Officials Suspended In Nayagarh As UTP Manages To Escape For 3rd Time

Nayagarh: Four constables and a driver were suspended on Sunday by Nayagarh's Superintendant of Police (SP) Sashibhushan Satpathy as an under-trial prisoner (UTP) of Khandapada Sub-jail in the district managed to escape for third time in three months on Friday.

Reportedly, Tapan Rout was arrested from Fategarh area for allegedly raping a minor girl. He gave the cops a slip while he was being escorted to Bhapur court for trial. He jumped off the court van and escaped.

Earlier this month, he had escaped from jail by scaling the boundary walls. After two days, he was nabbed by police. Prior to that, Rout had escaped from jail on June 10.
