Odisha: 7 From Single Village In Talcher Test Positive, Angul’s COVID Tally Crosses 300

Angul: As per the information shared by the district administration, on Wednesday, eight out of 16 cases in the district were reported from Talcher block. Out of the rest of the cases, seven are from Pallahara, while one COVID-19 positive was detected in Banarpal.

In Talcher, out of 8 new novel Coronavirus cases, 7 are from a single village. They include three women aged – 87, 60 and 36 and four men aged – 65, 58, 42 and 42.

All of them had come in contact of a person who had returned from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. This persons had tested positive for COVID-19.

Another woman of Talcher, aged about 40 years tested positive after coming in contact of a COVID-19 patient.

In Pallahara, among the 7 cases, four are men aged – 20, 35, 59 and 72 years. The three women from the block who tested positive are – 26, 33 and 52 years old respectively.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Angul district is now 302. “Today, the 16 new patients were shifted to Talcher COVID hospital. Today, 22 persons recovered from the disease and were shifted to COVID Centre for observation,” Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty said.

The total number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in Angul now stands at 193.
