Cuttack: Nearly 5.5 lakh candidates will be appearing the High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSEO) in nearly 3,000 examination centres spread across the State.
The HSC examination is scheduled to start from 19th of this month.
“This year 5, 47,747 examinees will be appearing the Matriculation (HSC) examination in nearly 3,000 centres,” informed Ramashis Hazra, President BSEO talking to reporters here today.
The BSEO today held a preparatory meeting for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming HSC examination.
The meeting was attended by District Education Officers (DEOs) of all 30 districts and Circle Inspectors (CI) of schools run by the ST & SC Development Department.
“We had invited the 30 DEOs and Centre Superintendents and have briefed them on how to conduct the exams,” said Hazra.
Unlike earlier years, this year there will be no OMR sheets and question papers will have two sections: objective and subjective types, which will be evaluated by teachers, he added.
Srikanta Tarai, secretary BSEO has informed that all information regarding examination to all schools has been uploaded at the BSEO’s website www.bseodisha.ac.in
“I request all schools to download this important information to get details about the number of candidates appearing the exam from their school, exam centre details etc. For this the school authorities will be required to use their school board as the user id and the password they are already using as the password to login,” said Tarai giving details.
