Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has bagged National Rank 5 in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2020-21 in the Government School Category, said a press release.
In the recently announced EW India School Rankings 2020-2021, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Hatiota, Ganjam has been declared as the 5th Best School India in the Government Co-ed Day School.
Simultaneously Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Patharchepa, Bolangir has also been ranked as the 5th Best School of India in the Government Residential School category.
While most of the schools in the ranking list are from urban areas, the schools of OAV are from remote rural areas, comprising of tribal and SC & ST dominated population.
OAV, Hatiota had excellent results in CBSE X Board Exams 2020 with 100% Pass School Average at 81.16% and 5 students scored above 95% and 14 students scored above 90%, similarly, OAV Patharchepa had 100% Pass with a School average of 78.30%, 5 students secured above 95% and 13 students scored above 90%.
This year, the Schools were assessed through a robust and comprehensive survey on wider parameters by 118 Field personnel from the Delhi-based C-fore group, who interviewed 4,492 well-informed educationists/ principals/ teachers as well as 7,095 parents and senior school students in 28 major cities and education hubs across India.
The survey was undertaken on 14 parameters of excellence that include teacher welfare and development, academic reputation, teacher competence (given double weightage), leadership, infrastructure, life skills, co-curricular and sports education, etc.

OAV earlier created a new benchmark in CBSE Class X Board Examinations 2020, the result of which was declared on July 15, 2020, and with its efforts, it has come a long way and made a noticeable space in the EW India School Rankings 2020-2021.
This year out of the 5436 students who appeared the CBSE Class X boards in 100 OAVs across the state, Sanskriti Khamari of Patharchepa OAV, Balangir scored the top rank with 98.8%. She is closely followed by Bhuban Meher from Junagarh OAV, Kalahandi with 98.6% to take the 2nd position and Sangita Sanghamitra Nayak of Salapada OAV, Anandpur, Keonjhar with 97.8% to bag the 3rd position.
Seven OAVs achieved 100% result, elevating the level of excellence. 295 students secured more than 90% and 2262 students scored above 60%. A total of 5032 students passed the examination, taking the pass percentage to 90. 89%
The Chief Minister congratulated all the students, faculty, and officials of OAVS for bagging the 5th position in the All India School Rankings 2020-21.
