Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan Setting New Benchmarks In CBSE Class X Board Examination

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), the dream child of Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik created a new benchmark in CBSE Class X Board Examinations 2020, the result of which was declared on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) are established with a mission to enhance educational standards across the state by providing quality English medium free education in each block of Odisha.

This year out of the 5430 students who appeared the CBSE Class X boards in 100 OAVs across the state, Sanskriti Khamari of Patharchepa OAV, Balangir scored the top rank with 98.8%. She is closely followed by Bhuban Meher from Junagarh  OAV, Kalahandi with 98.6% to take the 2nd position and Sangita Sanghamitra Nayak of Salapada OAV, Anandpur, Keonjhar with 97.8% to bag the 3rd position.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to congratulate the OAVS students for their success. The CM Tweeted:

“Congratulations to all the students of #OdishaAdarshaVidyalayas and their teachers for their remarkable success amidst #COVID19 global pandemic. With a pass percentage of 80.69%, the model schools of #Odisha are constantly raising the standard of education in the state.”

Seven OAVs achieved 100% result, elevating the level of excellence. 295 students secured more than 90% and 2262 students scored above 60%. A total of 4427 students passed the examination, taking the pass percentage to 82.09.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated all the students, faculty and members of OAVS for this outstanding success. Shri Samir Ranjan Dash, Minister School and Mass Education Dept and Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Advisor and Working President OAVS congratulated the students, teachers and parents for the remarkable result.

The State OAVS topper Sanskriti was jubilant and delighted with her success. A student of OAVS Patharchepa in Bolangir, she scored a brilliant 98.8 per cent marks in the CBSE Xth Board.

A humble and courteous Sanskriti dedicated success to her teachers and parents. She scored 100 in Maths, 100 in SST, 97 in English, 99 in Odia and 98 in Science, totalling 494 out of 500.

“We are not allowed to go for coaching or private tuitions. Infact, there is such an environment in our school where we do not need any kind of coaching. I am extremely grateful to my teachers who have taught us so well that our basic concepts are clear,” she said.

“Earlier I was in a private school but after I came to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, I realised there is a difference. Here in OAVS the way of teaching, curriculum and environment for studies is very conducive,” she added.
