Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been adjudged as a leading State for bringing remarkable reforms in the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme implemented by the Central Government.

Informing media at the State Secretariat on Thursday, Odisha Urban and Housing Development Minister Pushpendra Singhdeo said, “The way Odisha Government has brought in reforms as per the Centre’s guidelines on AMRUT scheme, Odisha has been adjudged as a leading State. The Central Government had made a detailed examination into it. Especially the points are e-governance, double entry accounting system, urban planning and city development plan, functioning and implementation of devolution of funds, etc. We’ve made reforms of 26 points for 2015-16”.

A letter from the Union Government dated September 20, 2016 has been received by the Odisha Urban and Housing Development in this regard.

Displaying the letter, the visibly elated Minister said, “Odisha on September 30 is going to bag Incentive Grant Award at the INDO-SAN Conference in New Delhi from the Prime Minister.

The Incentive Grant is Rs 10.27 crore”.
