Bhuabneswar: A Class-10 student allegedly committed suicide in the hostel premises of Sivananda High School, Khandagiri late on Wednesday night.
Chinmaya Kumar Behera, a resident of Mahidharapada, Khinda of Bantala in Odisha’s Angul district was found dead in his hostel. He was studying in Class 10.
According to the School In-Charge, “I got information that he had been talking about ending his life for the past few days and had even given demos to his friends on how to commit suicide. Last night, when all his friends were busy in their own work and were not around him, he committed suicide by hanging.”
But the bereaved family members are crying foul play over the whole matter. The deceased’s father and uncle have reached the spot.
His father alleged, “There is no such reason as to why my son would commit suicide. It is definitely a murder. Someone might have killed my son and staged it as a suicide.”
Meanwhile his uncle said, “The stories of peon, teachers, friends and hospital authorities are not matching. The school authorities are saying that he committed suicide by hanging while the doctors are saying that he fell down from two floors. Everything seems fishy.”
The police have reached the spot and started their investigation to find the truth. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
