Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government on Monday amended its July 31 guidelines on the extension of lockdown in containment zones and regulation of activities in areas outside the containment zones in the State to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
As in the said order no restriction was imposed on operation of restaurants, it was observed that there is heavy rush of people in different restaurants compromising the protocol of physical distancing, which has large potential for spread of Covid-19.
On further assessment of the situation, the State Government has amended the order by partially modifying the Clause 4 (Regulation of activities in areas outside the containment Zones) with inclusion of following after Sub-clause (vi):
Restaurant service in Hotels will be open for in-house guests and will operate as per SOP issued by the Health Ministry.
Restaurants and Hotels are permitted to operate for home delivery/takeaways of food. Dhabas along National and State Highways/Major roads are permitted for takeaway only.
This order will come into force with effect from August 4, 2020 (Tuesday).
