Bhubaneswar: As Odisha gears up to celebrate Navy Day on December 4, artists from the state have come up with an innovative way to pay tribute to the Indian Navy.
Using matchsticks and ice-cream sticks, these talented artists have created breathtaking models of the INS Vikrant warship, showcasing their exceptional craftsmanship and creativity.
The INS Vikrant, India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, holds a special place in the hearts of Indians. By creating models of this iconic warship, Puri-based artist Shashwat Ranjan Sahu and Cuttack-based Biswajit Nayak convey their gratitude and admiration for the Indian Navy’s bravery and sacrifices.
Shashwat (21) has created a stunning model of the INS Vikrant using 3,402 matchsticks. The model, which measures 22 inches in length, took Sahu eight days to complete.
“I wanted to do something special to honour the Indian Navy on Navy Day,” I am proud of my creation, and I would like to extend my best wishes to the Indian Navy, said Shashwat.
In a similar display of creativity and skill, Biswajit Nayak has created a remarkable model of the INS Vikrant using 675 ice-cream sticks. The model, which measures 16 inches in height and 23 inches in length, showcases Nayak’s impressive creativity and skill.
Notably, Navy Day in India is celebrated on 4 December every year to recognize the achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the country.
