**Bhubaneswar:** Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated Asian Rugby Under-18 Girls Sevens Championship at Kalinga Stadium here.
India defeated UAE 22-5 in the inaugural match of Asian Rugby at Kalinga Stadium today. The three-day long tournament will feature 12 countries from across Asia divided into three pools. India has been grouped in Pool B along with UAE, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
This is the first International Age Grade Rugby tournament to be hosted in India, and being organized for the third time. It is being hosted by Odisha government and Sports & Youth Services Department in association with Asia Rugby and Rugby India.
The participating teams are from China, Hong Kong, UAE, Philippines, Laos, Qatar, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and the host country India.
