Bhubaneswar: The first day of the Monsoon Session of the Odisha Assembly witnessed ruckus by both the opposition Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Nupur Sharma and Kanhaiyalal murder case.
While Congress targeted the BJP over the Nupur Sharma case, the BJP raised the Kanhaiyalal murder case issue. The BJP also targeted the Congress over the 1990s-mass migration of Kashmiri Pandits.
Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha said that the person concerned (Nupur Sharma) is not a member of the house and no discussion should be held in this regard. As the pandemonium continued, the house was adjourned till 4 pm.
