Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly which was scheduled to end on April 6 ended today with Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha adjourning the House sine die.
The session was held in two phases with a total of 23 working days.
The Annual Budget for the financial year 2023-24 was passed during the session.
While the State government withdrew three bills tabled by it in the House, the session remained stormy from the start till the end.
Issues like former Health Minister Naba Kisore Das’ murder, 5T transformation, officer raj, border dispute, Mahanadi water dispute, and fake certificate racket were used by the opposition to corner the government.
The decision to adjourn the House sine die ahead of six days of its schedule hasn’t gone well with the opposition.
While both the BJP and the Congress members staged a walkout, BJP members sat on dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue inside the Assembly premises.
