Bhubaneswar: The ongoing monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly was marked by chaos and disruptions on its second day, with the issue of fertilizer scarcity taking centre stage.
According to reports, as the Assembly session began, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLAs immediately staged a protest, raising slogans and demanding immediate action from the state government to address the acute shortage of fertilizers in the state.
The BJD MLAs demonstrated their dissatisfaction by marching towards the Speaker’s podium, demanding a discussion on the fertilizer crisis.
And the commotion forced Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House until 4 pm, citing the inability to conduct proceedings in a meaningful manner due to persistent disruptions.
