Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was adjourned till 4 pm today amidst opposition protests over the gas price hike.
The protesting MLAs staged a walkout and raised slogans against the government, demanding immediate action to address the issue.
The Assembly session was disrupted multiple times due to the protests today. Speaker Surama Padhy adjourned the House first till 11:30 am, then till 12:10 pm, and finally till 4 pm.
The opposition has been opposing the government’s decision to increase gas prices, citing difficulties faced by the common people. The protesters also raised concerns over the shortage of gas supply in the state and alleged that the government was not taking adequate measures to address the issue.
The Assembly Session is expected to resume at 4 pm, with the government likely to face further protests and opposition.
