Odisha Assembly Adjourned Till Tomorrow After Adopting Condolence Motion

Bhubaneswar: The Winter Session of the 16th Odisha Assembly commenced today.

The House adopted a motion moved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to condole the death of former Speaker Maheswar Mohanty, former Minister Saraswati Pradhan, former Government Chief Whip Ajay Kumar Jena, former MLA Rabi Das, former MLA Yudhisthir Samantaray, former Lance Havildar Saroj Kumar Das, and former BSF Constable Prakash Chandra Sial.

The condolence motion was supported by Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi and leader of the Congress Legislative Party Narasingha Mishra.

Mishra spoke in both Odia and Kosali in his speech to support the motion.

Speaker Pramila Mallik adjourned the House till tomorrow after the Assembly adopted the condolence motion.
