Odisha Assembly Budget Session Day 3: Farmers’ Issue Stalls House Functioning, Adjourned Yet Again

Bhubaneswar: In the sequel to the second day’s pandemonium over the alleged problems being faced by the farmers and paddy procurement issue, the same matter scuttled the smooth functioning of the House even on the third day of the significant Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

Speaker Surya Narayan Patro had to adjourn the proceedings when opposition members from both the Congress and the BJP parties resorted to ruckus soon after the House re-assembled for the day after remaining adjourned yesterday over the same issue.

The House was once again adjourned till 11.30 am today after running only for three minutes.

Like yesterday, the Congress and BJP members raised slogans and flaunted placards highlighting the problems being faced by the farmers of the State at their respective mandis (government-run market yards) during paddy procurement.
