Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Legislative Assembly was adjourned twice on Friday till 4.00 pm as the Opposition MLAs continued to create a ruckus in the house. Amid the huge uproar, Speaker Smt Surama Padhy first adjourned the House till 12.00 noon. She adjourned it again till 4.00 pm as the Opposition continued to disrupt the proceedings.
Soon after the House assembled on Friday for the day’s business, Opposition MLAs created ruckus disrupting the proceedings. The BJD legislators attacked the government raking up issue of closure of mandis, while the Congress MLAs demanded a discussion on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. MLAs of both the parties jumped into the well of the House and created a ruckus.
As the Speaker Surama Padhi was unable to conduct the business of the House, she adjourned the Assembly proceedings till 12.00 noon.
The Budget Session of the Assembly commenced on February 13 and it will have 28 working days. The Budget Session will be held in two phases – first phase will be held from February 13 to 21 and the second phase will be from March 7 to April 5.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who is in charge of the finance department, will present the full budget for the second time on February 17.
