Odisha Assembly Budget Session Sizzles In Tomato’s Distress Sale Heat, Din Mars House
**Bhubaneswar: ** While the fourth day (Thursday) of the ongoing Budget Session of Odisha Assembly ran smoothly and discussed Adjournment Motion on issues concerning our State’s farmers, the fifth day (Friday). like the inaugural day and its following days. got disrupted due to ruckus created by opposition Congress and BJP.
Soon after the Question Hour was over on Friday, Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra (Congress) raised the nagging issue of distress sale of tomato and the plight of the farmers in the Zero Hour.
BJP Legislature Party Leader K.V. Singhdeo followed the suit and also raised the vital issue.
Opposition castigated the BJD-led State Government for its lackadaiscal attitude towards the farmers of our State who are allegedly reelng under precarious situation and piquant pecuniary pinches.
Both the enraged Congress and BJP members rushed to the well of the House and raised slogans besides resorting to uproarious scenes before the Speaker’s podium following which turmoil ruled the roost.
Unable to run the proceedings hasslefree, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat was bound down to adjourn the House till 3 pm.
Notably, today (March 23) has been formally slated for presentation of the State Budget-2018-19 by the Finance Minister.
Leader of Opposition has suggested for convening an all-party meeting by the Speaker soon so that the House is brought to order.
