Bhubaneswar: For the third day in a row, the Odisha Assembly Session was marred by chaos as Congress and BJD members continued to create a stir, forcing Speaker Surama Padhi to adjourn the House until 4 pm, unable to proceed with the day’s scheduled proceedings.
The second phase of the Odisha Assembly Session began on a stormy note on Thursday, with opposition parties Congress and Biju Janata Dal creating uproar over issues pertaining to the Chikiti hooch tragedy and ED raids. The chaos led the Speaker to adjourn the House until 11:41 am, just minutes after the session.
The Odisha Assembly Session, which resumed at 11:41 am after an initial adjournment, was adjourned again till 4 pm as Congress and BJD party created a stir in the House over ED raids and the Ganjam hooch tragedy respectively.
As soon as the House reassembled, Congress and BJD members began shouting slogans. The Speaker tried to restore order, but the opposition parties continued to create uproar, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House again till 4 pm.
