Bhubaneswar: Surama Padhy, Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, visited AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Tuesday and actively participated in the ongoing Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar campaign, an initiative aimed at promoting women’s health and strengthening family well-being.
As part of her visit, Speaker Padhy underwent health screening for hypertension and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She also interacted with beneficiaries and healthcare providers, gaining first-hand insights into the impact of the programme at the grassroots level.
Welcoming her, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, said, “Her noble gesture of participating in the health screening and interacting with beneficiaries will certainly inspire all stakeholders to make the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan a grand success.”
Lauding the institute’s efforts, Speaker Padhy praised AIIMS Bhubaneswar for conducting comprehensive health screenings and commended the dedication of its healthcare providers. She noted that such campaigns play a vital role in empowering women through preventive healthcare and fostering healthier families and communities.
Senior dignitaries, faculty members, and staff accompanied the Speaker during her visit.
