Dhenkanal: A 6 month old elephant calf was found dead in Hildol forest range on Tuesday. The forest department personnel spotted the calf lying dead in Bhingira jungle today.
While it is suspected that the elephant died because of health issues, the acutal reason can be ascertained following a post-mortem, Forest Department officials said.
In the past one month, three elephant calves have died in Hindol forest range. An elephant died in the same region recently after getting caught in a trap laid by hunters, said sources.
